CUC Sunday School Class

Don’t be late for class on Sunday! This is the Saturday night we set our clocks to “spring  forward”.

On the Journey to Jerusalem.

Our own Linda Boswell will be our CUC Lesson speaker this Sunday continuing our Lenten lesson series. This will be Lesson 4 from “Luke” by Adam Hamilton –“On the Journey to Jerusalem”. Scripture–Luke 9:51-53 As the time approached when Jesus was to be taken up into heaven, he determined to go to Jerusalem. He sent messengers on ahead of him. Along the way, they entered a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival, but the Samaritan villagers refused to welcome him because he was determined to go to Jerusalem.

 Murphy-Harpst Birthday Party

Thank you, CUC members, for your financial help toward expenses for a birthday party our class will host on next Saturday, March 16 at The Murphy-Harpst Children’s Center in Cedartown, GA.  This is the only way six teenagers will celebrate their special days this month.  We will supply party goods and Bingo prizes.  The money we have collected will be used for the birthday party plus a contribution to the Murphy-Harpst.  Checks should be made out to CUC with notation to Murphy Harpst

The experience of a birthday party at The Murphy-Harpst Children’s Center is unique.  Being with this group of young people is special and mutually beneficial.   Our CUC Class has records of this project going back to 2015 except for a few years of Covid when that campus was closed to the public. THANK YOU for participating this year!

Hosting a party for 60 residents and staff members does require careful planning. In class last  week the signup sheet went  around one more time;  attached to the clipboard was copies of Bingo Game prizes suggested by M-H.  The hope is that class members buy some of the items and bring them this Sunday.  Those who  are  making the trip to Cedartown should meet for a short time after class on this  Sunday, March 10 for more information.
