When Moses Prayed as an Intercessor

Debbie  Goodwin  will  be  our  CUC  teacher  this  Sunday  and  next.  Her subject this Sunday is “When Moses Prayed as an Intercessor” using the  scripture from Exodus 32:9 &11

“I have seen these people,” the Lord said to Moses, “and they are a stiff-necked people . . . But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God. “O Lord,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand.”

Debbie  always  gives us an  interesting  lesson.

Newsletter Delivery Problems

For some  unknown  reason some  CUC  members  have  not  been  receiving  the  weekly  CUC  newsletter which  is  nearly always  sent out  sometime  Friday  morning. If it happens that you do not receive it, check your “Junk” file. If  you  do  not  find it  there you  may  email  suewaite@bellsouth.net to have it resent  it to you.  Also Gene Osborn, within  a short  time  after  he receives  the  newsletter, posts  it  on the  CUC  website.  You can always find previous newsletters there too. (In fact  you  can  actually  view  newsletters and  CUC  lessons  from  several  years  back thanks to Doug  Tatom and the work he did in creating and  maintaining our CUC website.)

SAVE THE DATE

SUNDAY MARCH 17, BRUNCH AT NOON ,CUC classroom , Details to follow !

CUC Fellowship Plans

The Fellowship Committee has been hard at work planning some social events for the class.  Our first event will be on Wednesday, February 28th. We are going to meet and play games and then go to Wednesday night supper together, which will be fun.  Our room has been reserved from 3 – 5, and we hope you will bring your favorite game to play or just come and play and then we will have supper together.

You see the SAVE THE DATE notice of March 17th for Brunch after our church services.  The menu and pricing will be coming soon and we will need to make reservations and pay so Jacob knows how many to prepare for, so put the date on your calendar.

Then in April, we will pass a signup sheet for small group dinners in May and we also are looking for a large space to have a dinner in late May.  The Peach and Pork Chop is no longer in business so we are hoping to find another venue, preferably outdoors. If you have a suggestion, please let one of us know.

Our Wednesday Night Out dinners will begin in June.  This is a full social calendar so mark your calendars and plan to join us!

The Sunday Morning Volunteer Team is looking for volunteers to help in several different areas. Anyone interested in serving Sundays as a greeter, Children’s SS leader, door host, usher or anything else, please contact JoAn Hobbs at jhobbs@rumc.com.

A Note from RUMC Leadership:

Periodically we have visitors on our campus that have come to seek help. They may need food, help with their rent or utilities, or seeking help with a place to stay. These days of rising costs are causing many to seek assistance. As much as you would like to give them funds out of your own pocket, we ask you to please not do so. We are set up with North Fulton Community Charities and MUST Ministries for those in need to come to them and receive assistance. Both of these wonderful organizations can offer them guidance to not only get immediate assistance, but also guidance  for stability for the future. Thank you for your help.
