Fake News!
Scott Dickson will present the CUC lesson this coming Sunday. He always brings us a good thought provoking lesson. “Fake News!” is the topic. And at least the starting point will be:
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
CUC Sunday School Class on Zoom following Speaker
Thank goodness for Zoom! We had 80 participants last Sunday. This Sunday will be the 30th Sunday we have met on Zoom!
Online Attendance Register for SS Classes
Be sure that you register your attendance – online at: RUMC CONNECT CARD and select the event that you are attending to register. Even if you are attending CUC on Zoom you should register your attendance. Sunday School – 9:30 am”. When you chose the time that our class normally meets, the system will then automatically connect your attendance to the CUC class.
A Note from CUC President
Fred Brown
As long as Jesus is one of many options, He is no option. As long as you can carry your burden alone, you don’t need a burden bearer. As long as your situation brings you no grief, you will receive no comfort. And as long as you can take Him or leave Him, you might as well leave Him, because He won’t be taken half-heartedly.
But when you mourn, when you get to the point of sorrow for your sins, when you admit that you have no other option but to cast all your cares on Him, and when there is truly no other name that you can call, then cast all your cares to Him, for He is waiting in the mist of the storm……..

Believe Ministries Benefit Celebration
Jane and Greg Davidson are celebrating 13 years in ministry and mission with Believe Ministries, using Greg’s theatrical illusions, music and multi-media to win hearts for Christ. For the past several years, they have hosted an annual Benefit Celebration at RUMC. Many CUC’ers came for an exciting night of entertainment, message, and a chance to give support to their work.
With all the challenges that the Covid virus has brought to all mission work, they feel it’s even more imperative to find new ways to getting the gospel message to the world…virtually. They are inviting you to an event: The Believe Ministries Benefit Celebration “Abra-ca-ZOOM”, a magically fun “God Night”, Thursday, November 12, 7 PM, a private event by Zoom invitation link. It will include comedy, magic, music and message, with an opportunity to support Believe Ministries. There will be an on-line auction too…that will include by popular demand, the “MagicBoy BBQ dinner and entertainment for 8”. They are still accepting auction items.
You are invited to request an invitation packet (with raffle prize tickets) that will result in the ZOOM invitation link for the program itself. Do this by clicking on this web link for the Believe invitation page, click on the red button “send my packet” https://tinyurl.com/Believe-VIP-Invite
Or, send Jane at Jane@BelieveMinistries.org a direct email request for your invitation packet. Please include your mailing address, email address, and the name that you use to zoom. Call Jane if you need help! 770.587.1292.
