Why Should I Continue to Believe?

CUC’s teacher this Sunday is our own Jeff Coelho. His topic is “Why Should I Continue to Believe?”. Jeff shared this subject with a Catholic teen club he once lead in Hawaii where he was a motivational speaker.

We are thankful for our CUC refreshments each week. This week they will be provided by Linda Mooney, Nancy Van Horn, Peggy Rodway, and Jill Caviness.
Please also thank Wanda Taylor for her work in organizing which class members bring refreshments each week.

CUC Wednesday Night Out

CUC members will enjoy dinner at Family Tradition restaurant at 7830 Hickory Flat Hwy(Hwy 140), Woodstock [MENU], at 5:30pm on August 9th. Sign up in class on Sunday or if you want to come and didn’t sign up in class, call Larry Douglas. ( The Douglas’s have retired their land line with their move this past week to Woodstock.)


Murphy-Harpst

Books for Murphy Harpst

Murphy Harpst School is in need of books for ages 12- 20 to build their new library.

Pamela Kramer, Director of Therapeutic Recreation, who some CUC members have met at the CUC February birthday parties at Murphy Harpst, has told Norma Hills that also needed are stuffed animals and items for activities for their leisure time like puzzles, board games, playing cards, adult coloring books and colored pencils .

Please bring any items you might want to contribute to CUC class next Sunday or deliver them to the Hills’ home. Dave & Norma Hills plan to deliver what we collect to the school in Cedartown in August.


Upscale Garage Sale Preparations

This is the week!

It has been a busy week preparing for this event with lots of CUC members participating. The Garage Sale Extravaganza continues this Friday and Saturday Aug. 4-5! If you aren’t coming to work, please come to shop. Wonderful bargains galore!! All proceeds help fund Job Networking.


RUMC Trip to Atlanta History Center

Join a group from RUMC Wednesday, August 16 for a tour of the Atlanta History Center. Admission is $13 per person. Lunch will be at Smokebelly BBQ and will be paid individually. We will leave from the parlor at 9:00 am. To make reservations, acummings@rumc.com

Be inspired to serve like Jesus in our church and community. As Linda King announced in CUC Class this past Sunday, you are invited to this “Multiply” event on Saturday, August 26, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm in the chapel for breakfast and lunch and a time of worship with Tom Davis, author Jo Saxton, Tom Alterman, and the Chapel Roswell Band. New Adult Bible Studies and Classes

As a church, we are called to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We hope you will join us for one of the bible study opportunities coming up this fall here at RUMC as we seek to grow in our knowledge of God, scripture, and faith. With a variety of topics, each of these classes will engage in deep study, rich discussion, and communal prayer as participants learn and grow together. Malone Dodson Golf Tournament

The 20th Annual Malone Dodson Golf Tournament to benefit The RUMC Foundation, Inc. is set for Monday Oct. 9, 2017. We are offering a special discount for RUMC Members if you register by Aug. 31.
