RUMC Travelers Club

Sandra Nauman has recommended to the class that many of the RUMC Travelers Club activities might be of interest to CUC members. The club takes day trips as well as longer ones of several days. The next trip coming up is to Brumby, TN. For more information speak to Sandra or Bonnie White.

Murphy Harpst Birthday Party

The CUC Mission/Outreach Committee is making final plans for our annual birthday party, Saturday, February 18th for residents at Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers.

Presently twelve class members plan to participate, but our contact person there says up to eighteen adults would be fine. Only a small number of people need to help with the party, but others may want to go for a tour of the Murphy-Harpst campus. The group going will leave RUMC at 10:45 to arrive at noon with the party scheduled for 1:00.

The sign-up sheet on a clipboard sent around again on February 12 will be a way for others to come to Cedartown, experience the party, and tour the campus with special attention to dorm rooms which our class has furnished. Also, since we are preparing for sixty residents, the basket will come around again for financial donations to cover basic expenses of the party. Thank you for your help! For questions contact Betty Hunt.

The Right Order of Things

Jim McCormick’s new book, The Right Order of Things is still available. Get them on Sunday morning in CUC. See Tom Knight. The book is a great summary of Jim’s thoughts on Christian beliefs in our modern world presented in a simple way that all of us can understand. The cost is $15 per book. Thanks to Jim, a $7 donation will be made to the RUMC Foundation for every book sold at RUMC. Make checks payable to the RUMC Foundation. Jim has personally signed every copy!

School Supplies for Honduras

Help‼ We will be supplying school supplies for the children in our Honduras school when we go April 20. If you can help us with crayons, colored pencils, markers and glue sticks they will be so appreciated.

Bring them to CUC and Gale Davis will make sure they get them. If you and/or your grandchildren would like to make a craft for the children to make just give Gale a call. Any simple craft with the accompanying supplies will be great. We can also use small cosmetic bags. Thank you.

Save those Pull Tops and Labels!

Remember to save the pull tops from soda cans to support the Ronald McDonald House in Atlanta and bring them in for Nancy Wright. We’re aiming for 10 pounds worth!
And for Red Bird Missions watch for those boxtops and labels!
