Christmas – a special time for children, and for adults, for counting our blessings and for giving!

There has been a huge increases in the number of children adversely affected by the increase in drug use by their parents (an over 40% increase of children requiring assistance) and there is limited assistance available to them. After our last week’s CUC class, several folks talked about our long time association with Murphy-Harpst Children’s Home, The Methodist Children’s Home, and Foster Care Support Foundation and posed the question:

Why don’t we do something that contributes to solving a significant problem through organizations we already support?After discussion with others in CUC leadership, the recommendation was to take a special offering this Sunday to be divided equally between the three organizations mentioned above.

That collection was held today along with our usual collection, however there were some CUC members who forgot to bring checks or cash who would have liked to participate. It is not too late! You may still get your donations to our CUC treasurer, Charlie Mason. To participate please make checks payable to “CUC Class” and indicate on the memo line “Children’s Special”.
