Many CUC class members are members of small groups. Others may be interested in joining a small group. We encourage CUC members to come to Wed. night supper this week and enjoy the speaker afterwards who is a leading expert on Small Groups.
This fall, RUMC is joining with Candler School of Theology for a Wednesday evening speaker series. With support from the RUMC Foundation, top biblical and Methodist scholars will participate. Rev. Dr. Kevin Watson will be the guest speaker on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the RUMC Chapel. Dr. Watson serves as the Assistant Professor of Methodist and Wesleyan Studies at Candler. His recent book, The Class Meeting: Reclaiming a Forgotten (and Essential) Small Group Experience, takes a look at Wesley’s formation of small groups and how this practice can and should be resurrected in the modern church.

Prayer request from Nancy Van Horn:
I just wanted to ask you to say a prayer for my brother , Charles Fridlin from Birmingham, AL who has attended CUC with his wife Nancy. They were there the day I fainted. He was rushed to the hospital last Saturday and has finally been diagnosed with a bacterial disease and a high fever. Not sure when he will be home. He did not have another stroke. We are all praying for the best and that he will be home soon.
