HomeStretch Run the River Race

The 15th Annual Run the River 5K, 10K, and Fun Run Road Race is just one week away, April 16. The race benefits RUMC mission partner HomeStretch, which provides housing and mentoring for homeless families. HomeStretch is one of two local mission that RUMC has helped birth.
CUC is a very generous Sunday School class in supporting the Homestretch Run the River. You have supported through running/walking, and volunteering to work the race. CUC has pledged to support Mike Long in the Congregation Challenge, a friendly competition among the Churches and Synagogues in the North Fulton area where the congregation that collects the most dollars from both runner fees and donations wins the Challenge Trophy. To date you have pledged about $700 for this wonderful effort. We will again this Sunday pass the clipboard to give you a chance to donate and give points to RUMC. Please consider bringing your check this Sunday to fulfill your pledge. An envelope will be available for your pledge check made out to RUMC with Homestretch Challenge in the memo line. This will help Susan Gunter in that she will not have to follow you for your pledge. You can also get credit when you sign-up on active.com. Lynn Adcock, Tom Knight and George Waite are on the committee. Let one of them know if you would like to help with this year’s race. Runners, Sponsors and Volunteers needed!
For full information go to http://www.runtheriver.org. To support the Congregation Challenge be sure anyone who registers to run or to make a donation include RUMC in the message area. The congregation with the highest dollar credit (registrations and donations) will receive the large Run the River trophy to display for a year, plus bragging rights!
