Opportunities for Supporting Missions:

Homestretch
The 15th Annual Run the River 5K, 10K, and Fun Run Road Race will be April 16. The race benefits RUMC mission partner HomeStretch, which provides housing and mentoring for homeless families. CUC voted to support the 2016 Homestretch Road Race with a sponsorship of $750. A number of CUC members have volunteered to work on this race each year for a number of years. This year Lynn Adcock, Tom Knight and George Waite are on the committee.
For full information go to http://www.runtheriver.org. To support the Congregation Challenge, which is a friendly competition among local churches and synagogues, be sure anyone who registers to run or to make a donation include RUMC in the message area. The congregation with the highest dollar credit (registrations and donations) will receive the large Run the River trophy to display for a year, plus bragging rights!
Runners, Sponsors and Volunteers needed!

Murphy Harpst

Betty Hunt announced that with a CUC class donation of $488 for the February birthday party and expenses of only $309 there was an excess of $178 to be contributed to Murphy Harpst. With an additional donation from CUC’s class treasury we have sent a check for $450 to Murphy Harpst.

Red Bird Missions

A letter from Red Bird Mission thanked CUC for how it helps them: The letter states, “We have received over half the points to purchase a minivan through Campbell’s Labels for Education program. Please participate and encourage others to send in eligible bar codes to help us reach our goal to provide needed transportation for our Dormitory program. ” Please continue to save Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education including UPC’s (bar code). Some people in our class have been so very faithful about bringing those items on Sunday.
